Who is Liz?

Hello my name is Liz, I am British, transplanted 22 years ago and now living in Harvard, Massachusetts. I am married to an engineering type husband, and have two wonderful  daughters, both  at college, one  in Vermont and one in Boston.

My sewing career started many years ago when my friend Linda and I discovered we could  make Barbie clothes from a book of shower curtain samples her family had! Since then I have  progressed to full size dressmaking!

I have always had an interest in all types of needlework and usually have a knitting project going as well as some kind of dressmaking. I have also dabbled in needlepoint, crocheting, weaving, basket-making and doll clothes.

I majored in  Home Economics at Sheffield Hallam University, UK . and made my first curtains for my first house in 1984. Since then I have made all my own window treatments and many for friends and family.  In the spring of 2004 the time was right  to turn my hobby into a full time business.

In order to keep up  with the latest developments and trends in the home furnishings industry I am an active member of the WCAA ( Window Coverings Association of America), the  WAA (Workroom Association of America)  and regularly attend conferences and seminars offered by the Custom Home Furnishings Industry.

In August 2006, after a comprehensive course of study in textile information, safety standards, fabrication techniques, customer relations, window treatment knowledge and product applications, I earned my CWP ( Certified Window Professional) certification from the WCAA.

I look forward to hearing from you to discuss your projects.
